UNC Biomolecular NMR Laboratory Inova 500 MHz spectrometer
UNC UNC Biomolecular NMR Laboratory
Chapel Hill, NC The Inova 500 MHz Spectrometer

The Inova 500 MHz spectrometer is used for high resolution studies of liquid samples. The spectrometer has four RF channels to allow simultaneous manipulation of H1, C13, N15, and H2 spins for studies of triple-labeled proteins. Two of the RF channels are equipped with waveform generators to create shaped RF pulses. The spectrometer has three-axis gradients to allow solvent suppression and selection of coherence pathways. The sample temperature can be controlled to +/- 0.1 C. Two probes were purchased with the system: a 5mm H1 {C13/N15} X, Y, Z PFG triple resonance probe and a 5mm N15 - P31 broadband switchable probe that can observe H1 or F19 while decoupling X or observe X while decoupling F19 or H1. This is a versatile instrument that will support a wide variety of users doing a wide range of experiments.
